ICchecker
The Gamut checker.
ICchecker will check your gamut against a checking preset, for example the EBU103 standard. ICchecker has two three main parts.
- Checker Preset Controls.
- Checking Preset edit/create.
- Licensing setup.

The Checker Preset Controls.
Checking Preset
Here is where you select the preset that you are checking your video against. For example if you want to check that some part of your clip is compliant to EBU103, then select the EBUR103 preset.
Check Luma
By checking this you can indicate parts of the video that are not compliant in the luminance domain. Out of gamut areas are indicated by a horizontal line patterning.
Check RGB
By checking this you can indicate parts of the video that are not compliant in the RGB domain. Out of gamut areas are indicated by a vertical line patterning.
Check Composite Chroma
By checking this you can indicate parts of the video that are not compliant in the analog composite chroma domain. Out of gamut areas are indicated by solid grey areas.
Editing/Creating checking presets.
You can edit existing or create new checking presets.

- Press the “Edit Checking Preset” button.
- All the adjustment parameters will then be revealed.
- All values are in percentage points with 100 being peak white and 0 for Black. Sub blacks are indicated as negative values.
- Legalisation modes can be RGB, where limiting is applied only to the RGB components of the video signal. YRGB, where limiting is applied to the RGB components of the video signal and the Luminance (in that order). Composite, where limiting is applied to the analog composite domain. This effects both luminance and composite chroma with settings for both. Composite and RGB where an RGB limiter is applied before the composite limiter.
User Presets
You will see in the “Select Preset” dropdown the last presets are User Preset 1 – 10. These allow you to edit your own preset in the same way as described above. These can also be renamed as below.
Rename Checking Preset
Pressing this button will enable you to rename a checking preset. It will bring up a dialogue box for you to write in your new name. Please note that the new name does not immediately become visible. Premiere pro will need to be restarted. You will notice however the old name always appears in the dialogue box meaning you can check it if necessary.
Save Preset
This is the only way for your preset to become permanent! If you do not press this when you have made your adjustments and move on to another preset, your adjustments will be lost! So press this when you are happy with your new preset!!!
License Management
The License management is duplicated in all the other plugins. It enables you to move any licenses you have as well as purchasing/hiring new ones.

I-Comply comes with a free 30 day trial. When you start up ICchecker or any of the other plugins you will see the following.

After 10 days, if you use the plugin, you will be required to register. When you apply the plugin you will get the following.

Pressing the “Register” button will cause your default bowser to open at the following page.

Once you have registered (Note your email is very important for moving your license). You will get a further 20 days free trial.
Once your 30 day free trial is finished, when you apply the plugin you will get the following.

“Purchase or Hire I-Comply” – will take you online to purchase or hire the plugin. Hiring the plugin, even for a day, is enough to get a job done. This is an OpEx (Operational Expenditure) model where you just charge on to your client for legalisation services. If you use legalisation regularly it may pay to buy a perpetual license to I-Comply.
Manage License –> Move License

Here you will see a list of all your computers that you register under the single email address. If you just tick boxes in “DEALLOCATE FROM” and “ALLOCATE TO” and press “RE-ALLOCATE NOW” you will swap your license from one computer to another.
License Type –> Make License Online/Offline
If you are working somewhere with no internet connection or strong security firewalls you can move your license offline. When you do this it will last one week and work with no internet connection during that period. The catch is that you must do this WITH an internet connection so remember to do it before you move to that location!
